General Update – Premieres & Festivals

Our feature film Shackled had its premiere in the Tain Theatre in Dundalk on Thursday and was attended by around 300 people, which was absolutely fantastic. The film was very well received and a very good night was had by all. Thanks to everyone who came to show their support and for all the lovely messages and emails we received afterwards.

The Hollow Girl was nominated for three awards at this years Underground Cinema Awards in Killiney last night. It was up for Best Editing, Score and Cinematography. While we didn’t win any of our categories, it was an honour to be nominated and we’ve been told the film was well received by audiences. It is to be featured in the Underground Cinema Roadshow which starts in Naas next week. Thanks to Dave Byrne and his crew for a good night.

The Hollow Girl also had its North American Premiere last night at the Maelstrom International Fantastic Film Festival in Seattle last night. We’re looking forward to hearing audience reactions from the screening. We’ll keep you all updated in that regard!

Shackled is Finished!

A year in the making, our first feature film Shackled is finally complete and ready to be released into the world. We now start the exciting journey of getting the film to sales agents / distributors and starting work on the big ‘next project’.

For those of you who are interested, we are having the premiere in Dundalk Town Hall on Thursday the 16th of September at 8pm. Due to seating capacities, it will be invite only, so anyone who would like to go please email me at ambrose@squidmedia.ie to request a ticket. Thanks everyone!

We are delighted to announce that we have aquired the talents of Irish singer/songwriter Bill Coleman for Shackled. He is providing the film with two songs, including an exclusive, never before released track, Close My Eyes.

Funding update

We’re pleased to announce that we’ve raised enough money for the first half of the post-production sound cleanup for Shackled!

We’re not out of the woods yet though! We still need to get €5,500 for the final payment. Please check out this funding link and help us in any way you can!

It’s four months to the day since Ambrose and I took over the editing of Shackled.

It’s been a long journey, but the film edit is now officially locked at a comfortable 77 minutes sans credits!
Special effects are currently underway, grading will begin next week, as will composing the score with the sound cleanup starting not long after that!
All going to plan, the film should be ready for your hungry eyes in August!

Actually, this is an opportune time to remind you all that we need your help to complete the film! For information on how to invest or donate to the film, please contact either Ambrose or myself!

Hi folks,

We’re pleased to be able to bring you the first teaser footage of Shackled!

This is primarily for cast and crew, so we’ve left the plot somewhat vague for now.
